Onion sliced or julienned (2 cups)

Garlic (4-5 cloves)

Tomatoes halved (2 pcs)

Potatoes peeled halved (6 pcs)

Plain Yogurt or Dahi (4 tbl spn)

Turmeric Powder (1 tspn)

Cloves (3-4 pcs)

Salt (to taste)

STEP 1 : Here is a look at the primary ingredients for cooking this recipe . Slice the onions, peel and halve the potatoes and make a paste of the ginger and garlic .
STEP 2 : Mix 4 tbl spns with the turmeric powder and mustard oil and marinate the chicken with it for 2-6 hours .
STEP 3 : Cover the potato halves with turmeric powder and salt and fry them . For this step you can use either white or mustard oil .
STEP 4 : Heat some oil and add the whole garam masala and then the sliced onion . Fry till the onion caramelizes, add some salt and sugar for browning the onions faster .
STEP 5 : Add in the ginger garlic paste, the potatoes, the chopped tomatoes and sautee well . Add in the chicken and potatoes . Add in turmeric powder, ed chilli powder and salt to taste . Cook for 10-15 mins .
STEP 6 : Add in 4-5 cups of water and pressure cook for 15 minutes . You can also cook it in a pan but it will take 35-40 mins . Serve with boiled rice and a crisp cucumber salad .
